| |
| Introduction... |
With the backdrop of majestic Himalayan mountains and in an area of breathtaking natural beauty, the retreat will offer you the opportunity to develop your personal yoga practice and relax within the supportive and uplifting environment of the Ashram. Our programme offers a unique combination of Eastern and Western teaching provided by Himalayan born Ananda and English Instructor Miranda Falconer. Experience the authenticity of an Indian Yogi blended with the sensitive and contemporary approach of an English Yogini. |
| ‘Retreat to India’ is a 16 day journey that will take you from the bustling Indian metropolis of Delhi into the foothills of the Himalayas, from chaos into serenity. You will stay for a week in the Hindu Pilgrimage town of Rishikesh then continue north for a further week in Dharamasala, home of the Dalai Lama and an area steeped in Tibetan Buddhist culture. |

| about the Yoga... |
The style of yoga practiced and taught by Miranda and Ananda is rooted in the classic repertoire of Hatha yoga from which the disciplines of the popular Ashtanga and Iyengar have developed. Often with a playful approach both gentle flowing yoga and more dynamic yoga will be incorporated within the programme as well as guided visualisations and chakra work to help you connect with the pranic body. If you are new to yoga then your guides will help you to re-discover and re-tune your body by introducing you to this amazing and ancient system of wellbeing. If you already practice yoga, whatever the style and level from beginner to advanced the retreat invites you to explore asanas, breathwork and meditation more deeply.
|
| The daily programme will include: |
- Yoga (including restorative and Yoga Nidra and Yin Yoga)
- Meditation and Pranayama (breathwork)
- Satsaang – Evening lectures, Q&A sessions and Sutra study (yoga verses)

|
| There will also be the opportunity to attend additional lectures and classes in yoga, health, philosophy and Indian cookery; enjoy Indian music concerts and even pamper yourself with a ayurvedic massage. |
| We will organise everything for you including flights and visas. All you have to do is turn up at the airport with your yoga pants and we will do the rest. |
